The Davis Derby MineWATCH PC 21 system is certified intrinsically safe to the ATEX directive, category M1. The system is a flexible remote control and monitoring system comprising three modules which can be used in combination for a wide variety of applications such as conveyor, pump, fan and compressor control. In addition the PC 21 system is suitable for environmental monitoring applications.

Conveyor Control Unit MineWATCH Conveyor Control Unit - used for coal face AFC and stage loader applications or for roadway conveyors.
General Purpose Control Unit MineWATCH General Purpose Control Unit - intended for various applications, including pump control, fan control, auto-loop control, hydraulic coupling control or compressor control.
I/O Unit MineWATCH Input Output Unit - to expand the I/O (input/output) facilities of the other units of the PC21 series.
Telemetry Unit MineWATCH Telemetry Unit - unit to interface with a mine SCADA system via BS 6556 FSK telemetry.
MineWATCH PC 21 Modules

The three MineWATCH PC 21 modules are:

PC21 Control Module PC 21-1 Control module - intrinsically safe interface to mine plant and machinery.
PC21 Display Module PC 21-2D Display module - provides the user interface; it is equipped with an LCD display and a keypad.
PC21 Transmission Module PC 21-2T Transmission module - an intrinsically safe barrier and telemetry modem to provide a long range telemetry link to a SCADA system.  It is capable of operating over distances of up to 10km.

The MineWATCH modules are described in the MineWATCH PC 21 Modules section.  Modules can be connected together to form a cluster as shown below.  This section describes a range of dedicated control units based on the PC 21 modules:
