Davis Derby, world leader in the design and manufacture of monitoring and protection equipment for the underground mining industry, has launched a new ‘Programmable Display’ to the market.
The programmable display has been designed and developed by Davis Derby’s MineWATCH team in response to the lack of certified signage and displays for underground mines. The company has global recognition for designing safety monitoring devices that are fit for purpose – and that means ensuring that the equipment is certified to the highest standards.
The programmable display units form part of the companies MineWATCH range of products and provide ATEX certified units that can be used with Ethernet or Canbus connections from the surface so it can be programmed from a PC.
Display units are widely used in mines as directional signage with fixed messages but MineWATCH has produced a system that is flexible and can display any message programmed from a PC in any language and with a wide library of symbols.
Phil Sands, Product Manager of MineWATCH, explains: “Keeping people safe is at the heart of everything we do here and our range of products demonstrates our commitment to this. Our customers trust our knowledge and we develop systems that are not only easy to use and compatible with, now and into the future.”
Davis Derby range of MineWATCH products includes high speed data systems, speech communication, audible warning systems, conveyor automation, general purpose and environmental automation, underground personnel identification and vehicle tracking systems.
