Davis Derby is proud to announce the new TruckLOG Radar Speed Restriction System which helps increase safety of forklift trucks when transitioning between outdoor and indoor areas.
The system automatically reduces the maximum speed of a forklift truck when entering indoor areas by detecting the ceiling of a building. The Radar Speed Restriction System enables the speed limiter of the vehicle automatically and eliminates any risk of a driver not reacting when entering a building. When the ceiling is no longer detected the forklift truck will be allowed to be operated at its normal operating speed.
The sensing zone distance and sensitivity can be configured by our engineers during installation to reduce false activation by objects such as overhanging trees, pipelines and canopies.
The stand-alone sensor, which is fitted to the roof of the cab, uses weather-independent radar technology to detect ceilings of up to 24m high. Unlike infra-red technology, sensing functions are unaffected by wind, falling rain or snow, fog, humidity, air temperature or light and can operate in cold or hot climates with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 65°C.
The TruckLOG Radar Speed Restriction System features a rugged IP67 housing that can withstand harsh environments. Measuring just 74mm across with a depth of 46mm, it is a cost-effective, compact and reliable system that can be quickly retrofitted to existing fleets.
